In Loving Memory
Warren Stafford
June 24, 1933 — February 18, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Warren Stafford, cherished father, devoted grandfather, and beloved brother, who passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on June 25, 1933, in Mount Holly, New Jersey, Warren was the loving son of Robert and Mabel Stafford. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. Warren was the beloved husband of the late Ethel Mae Smith, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised their children, Angelina Tonya Stafford, Sonija Stafford, and his stepson, Frank Austin Jr., in a home filled with laughter, warmth, and unwavering support. Warren's life was a testament to the power of love and commitment, and he was an exemplary provider for his family, always striving to ensure their happiness and well-being. A man of diverse talents and interests, Warren served his country with honor in the US Navy during the Korean War, a role that instilled in him a deep sense of discipline and duty. Following his service, he dedicated his career to various roles, including working at the San Carlos School District, establishing a janitorial service, and serving at the US Post Office. Warren was also a guiding light to many as a mentor to his nieces and nephews and as a preacher for the Church of God in Christ, where he also fulfilled the role of Sunday School Superintendent. Warren's zest for life was evident in everything he did. In his youth, he was an avid boxer and football player, pursuits that showcased his strength and determination. His love for fishing brought him peace and joy, while his penchant for cooking, taking long drives, and telling jokes enriched the lives of all who knew him. He was known for his fairness and strength as a parent, always striving to balance discipline with warmth and humor. Survived by his children, Warren's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Anthony Buttler, Zaquis Coleman, and Elijah Stafford, and his four great-grandchildren. His siblings, Harold Stafford, Joan Norman, Carol Stafford, and Earl Stafford, along with a host of family and friends, will forever cherish the memories shared with Warren. A service in his honor will be held on February 12, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Jones Mortuary, located at 660 Donohoe St, East Palo Alto, CA 94303. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Jones Mortuary for their compassionate care during this difficult time and invites all who knew Warren to join in celebrating his remarkable life. In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Warren's spirit will forever be with us, a guiding light in our hearts. As we bid farewell, let us remember Warren Stafford as a beacon of love, strength, and laughter. "Forever in our hearts."
